Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state has redeemed his N65 million pledge to Nigeria Professional Football League side Akwa United.
The team had won the 2015 Federation Cup with the governor failing to redeem his pledge until Friday.
It was gathered that the payment was delayed because of some issues involving members of the team.
During the presentation of the cheque to the team, the governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Monday Uko, lauded the team for the feat.
