Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has condemned the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi for dropping his traditional dresses and adopted full regalia of an Emir.
He accused the Oluwo, a first-class king from Osun state, of suffering from “an unfolding identity crisis” and blamed it on President Muhammadu Buhari.
He wrote on Twitter: “It appears that we have an unfolding identity crisis in some parts of Yorubaland. There is a traditional ruler in Osun state who now insists on calling himself an Emir and who dresses like one.
“We were never conquered by the Fulani but look at what Buhari has done to us now!”
Oba Akanbi has also banished palace idols saying Iwo was the home of Islamic scholars and that he could be regarded as an emir.
